2011 Conference - Niagara Falls, Canada

November 3 - 6, 2011

Our Conference

The Canadian Art Therapy and Ontario Art Therapy associations together offer an exciting 2011 conference in the remarkable city of Niagara Falls. Art Therapy Here and Now will present new approaches in art therapy and encourage you to explore aspects of our profession and its application to a variety of client groups. An extensive roster of over 50 professionals will bring their unique perspectives and leave you with renewed energy and enthusiasm, as well as a broader appreciation for this profession. Our keynote speaker, Cathy Malchiodi, is a leader in the art therapy field who will challenge your perceptions and bring new insights to your practice.

Topics include the role of art therapy in the treatment of mental illness, abuse, trauma, cancer, the autism spectrum, eating and attachment disorders, the aftermath of domestic violence, and more. The emerging connections between art therapy and neuroscience will be explored. Key aspects of contemporary practice, such as communicating across disciplines and client groups, the use of media and techniques, and foundational stances such as collaborative healing, mindfulness, and multicultural awareness will also be discussed.

Keynote Speaker: Cathy Malchiodi, PhD, LPAT, LPCC
